Hunting the Big White Tail

My hubby went deer hunting this morning and of course he killed one. As he was getting things ready last night our three year old said "daddy please don't shoot the one's with a family or the one's with spots. Only shoot the bad one's ok." She's so cute. All I want is meat for deer jurky..I just asked him about his little adventure in the woods to humor him and show my little interest in his activities. So after he told me about his hunt I replied when do you go again. His answer was I'm done for this season. I find this a little crazy for the fact that all these so call Big Hunters spend all this time walking the woods to make thier plan and they put up their tree stand check and recheck their hunting gear and talk about the big hunt with their buddies and you only get to shoot one then it's over..Now hubby left at 6am and was back at 8:45am so to me that was a very quick season. Well I guess he can sit back and relax and wait for our meat to be prosessed while all his friends that hunt are still looking for "The Big One" and he can feel proud of his kill.

Here are pic's of my GREAT shopping trip with coupons.. I actually only spent a fraction of what I should have and with all my coupons and Reward money and Extra Buck and store savings I saved over $144.. How wonderful is that!!!!

Sorry it's been awhile but I'm back. I'm playing a new game now. It's the coupon game. This game is sooo rewarding. I love it. I have learned new ways to save money and have a blast while doing it. First thing I do is get the Sunday papers go thru it and cut out all coupons that I would use. Next I look thru the retailers ads.(CVS, WALGREENS,KMART, WALMART and TARGET.

Then I match the coupons with the ad flyers for the things that we use or might use if the price is right. Now this is when I check my two favorite coupon web sites Hip2save.com and

savingmoneyinmissouri.com . These two sites give me some of the best tips they also have links to coupon sites that you can print even more coupons. Now it's time for the fun. I now have all my ads, coupons and list in hand then head to the stores. Today was a great day for getting a deal. The first place I went was WALGREENS. I got Visine and Tampons for free. I paid $1.41 for a gallon of milk, I paid 11.92 for 8 boxes of Hot pockets they were 2 /$3. then I also got $5.00 off that so they cost .87 cense each I also paid $3.08 for bleach , 2 bags of Chex mix 2 cans of Folgers and Dawn dish soap. Not too bad.
My next stop was TARGET.. That was a biggie. My bill was $60. before coupons. I had $33.25 in coupons so I only paid $27.29. I got 4 Hamburger helpers for only $1.25. I paid .14 cense for conditioner $1.19 for 2 wish bone salad dressings, $2.00 for 2 boxes of Mini Wheats. I also saved on Qtips, body wash, crest, lotion, mini pads, Ponds fasical cleansers, and air freshener. I got a free tooth brush, pack of gum, fruit cups, 2 cans of Chef boyardee rav's. Lots of great deals..
The next store I went to was CVS. That was a very interesting stop. They give you Extra buck on products to spend on your next purchase, this is the fun thing to do. In my first transaction I bought 10 Power aids for $10 and got $5. in EB , glad air fresheners which I spent $10. but had $4. coupons and got $3. in EB and a Cerst mouthwash for $3.49 which I hada $1. coupon and got $2.00 EB. So there I spent $23.49 , used $6. in coupons and got $10. in EB. My next transaction was for Blink eye drops they were $7.99 with $7.99 EB so I used $8.00 Eb from my first purchase on my 2nd one so I cost my .07 cense and I got the $7.99 EB remember that. So my next purchase was for hand wipes at $4.99 and Tissues for $5.98 so I used my EB money $7.99 and $2.50 so these only cost my $1.36. WOOOT HOOOT!!!! Now my last purchase wasn't as good but any way I bought Fish Oil pills Buy one get 1 free and I had a $1.00 coupon so I got 2 bottles for $10.79. I also got razors buy one get one 1/2 off and I had 2 coupons $3. and a $5.00 and I used my other $4.oo in EB so the whole purchase cost me $17.30.. not too bad.. Let me know how you think I did.. This has got to be one of my new favorite things to do..

Family Summer Moments

This summer has been a real hot one. Really can't wait for it to be over. We as a family really haven't done anything too very exciting but we have made a few memories to share. We went to the St Louis Zoo in April and had a great time. Addison had a birthday on July 3rd. We celebrated all weekend long. I think everytime she see's fireworks she's gonna think they're for her. We ever celebrated the 4th of July with good friends in Vandalia with food, drink and firreworks. It was a spectacular show given by a group of friends.. We've gone swimming a few times saw a movie or two and spent lots of time together acting goofey and just being together. It was a simple but memerible summer for all.

The family trip to the St Louis Zoo in April.. I was a long day but eventful. Hope to get there this fall too.

Well it's been awhile but now I'm back. I kinda needed to take a break from just about anything extra that would cause too much thinking. During my time gone I spent ALOT of time playing with Addie. She seams to have just grown up over night. When did she learn to talk to clear, and say so much. And boy does she have alot to say. Never a quiet moment at my house. She just loves to draw and color oh yeah and use glue. Of course she won't let me teach her how to hold the pencil or crayon but at least she tries to be creative. I just can't believe my baby girl is now 3 years old. She'll be attending preschool in the fall and I think she will love it. We had VBS last week and she did pretty well considering she was by far the youngest one there. She loved being with the other kids. I guess she really could use a little playmate. Just kidding. We've spent many hours playing on her new swing set and taking a little dip in the wading pool. Well before you know it this summer will be gone and the cool weather will be here and the holidays will be among us. Where does time go? I just can't help but think these next few years are just going to fly by. In the fall Hannah will be in 8th grade. wasn't she just 5 years old the other day. Boy has she grown up. Every time I walk down my hallway and see my wedding pictures with her in them (which was just three and a half years ago) I can't help but see how little she looks. I always tell her to slow down and enjoy being a teenager because soon she'll be all grown up and will be a woman with the duties of a adult not the care free life she has now. But you know when your young you just can't wait to be old and when your old all you want is to look young or at least feel young again. I think the thing that makes me the saddess these days is the thought of my baby boy speading his wings and leaving the nest. Zac is 20 and has been dating a very sweet young lady for over 7 months. He tells me he is in love and thinks she's the one he would like to spend his life with. She still has 3 years of college left then she'll be looking to start her life as a special ed teacher. She is from a town south of Chicago. I am so scared she's gonna want to take my baby away and live up there. He says he is a small town boy and they have agreed to live in a smaller town between her parents and me. Lets just hope that happens or I just might become that over bearing mother that no one likes.. Wait I already am. The whole thought of ZAc living that far away just make me want to cry. I know it's crazy but thats still years away but I'm a crazy kinda person and seams to always worry about the thing I have no control of. Well I guess this whole jaber is just about me feeling lonely and OLD. As you all read this and say to your self she's lost it you just wait one day not only will you be old but your kids will leave you too and you too will feel lonely. Call me then and we can cry together..

Garden Time

The garden is coming along very nicely.. We've had green onions, radishes and then yesterday we got some lettuce. The potatoes are looking good and the green beans and about a foot tall. I'm feeling like quite the little farmer.Today my friend Lynn brought me fresh eggs and I gave her some of my garden riches what a great trade. I think now I'm going to try my hand at getting some strawberries and making some homemade strawberry jam. I might even try to make some fruit rolls. They've got to be better for the kids then the ones you buy at the store. Well time to go look up some ways to use my fresh veggies.

Happy Moments

I was thinking today about the little things that make me smile.. First and formost it has to be my family then friends. Cheesecake is a true pleasure of mine too and always brings a smile to my face unless I actually eat it then it is followed by a look of concern as to how much exercise do I need to do now to burn off that wonderful piece of heaven. I also love the spring flowers and the smell of grass being cut and what about the sound of rain.. That is a very calming sound to me which also makes me happy because of the after effects of the growth of nature. And then theres the great Mc Donalds coke.. A true life pleasure. Glad I got one today it made everything all better. Now where is that cheesecake???

Daughters

I must confess my relationship with my 13 year old is getting worse. Not too sure how to fix it at this point. We don't talk at all, unless however she wants something. Most of the time we just seem to yell at each other. She just doesn't understand I will always get the last word in so she just keeps on nagging or yelling at me. I think she forgets I have ALL the power she is just a 13 year old. Han just doesn't understand all I do for her. Maybe the whole thing is I do too much for her to appreciate what she has. I wonder when will it get better. These are the best years of her young life and she spends most of her time grounded. And the sad thing is it doesn't seem to bother her. My main worry is her bad taste in choices. Grant it she is only 13 but the boys she seems to like. What is she thinking.. I'm just glad that I'm the one that makes the choice to even let her out of the house at all except for going to school and at this rate I think she maybe grounded till summer and maybe even till she graduates high school. Is that possible to do? I figure the longer she's is grounded the better chance I have at knowing what she's doing. I think raising a teenage girl is the scariest thing going on in my life right now. Does anyone know where I can send her till she is about 25?

Just Talking

O K I have to voice my opinion today. I have really had it with all the media talkiong about Tiger Wood and Jessie James and their affairs.. I don't care. Now I do feel for their wives and children because they are very involved in this but it does not involve the rest of us so stay out of it. This does not have any thing to do with they way Tiger Woods plays golf or the way Jessie James works on motorcycles just as it had nothing to do with the way Bill Clinton ran the country. Do you think the country cares when a not so famous person goes out and has a affair and ruins their family? Not hardly.. We as the people have to stop giving these people our time. The only person I care about as to having an affair would be my very own husband and I think maybe everyone should STOP worring about what everyone else is doing and only worry about our own spouse. Yes it is wrong but in the end we are not going to be the one that makes the judgement that matters. God our heavenly father is the one that will have the last word on this matter. So shame on us for being so nosey and making this very personal family matter worse for all involved.. So before we all start gripping and want to tell Tigers wife or Sandra what they should do maybe you need to look at your own life.

Killin myself

Yesterday I missed my regular gym time because we had the internet guy come try to fix the speed of the service. So I figured I would try to slip a workout in when Hannah was at her comformation class at church. So when I got to the gym there was no daycare so I had to wait till 4:30 by that time I only had 20 minutes to work up a sweet. At least my favorite drill instructor was working out with a couple other groupies so I got to join in for their last 5 minutes. They kicked my butt in those
5 minutes but I forced myself to continue for another 15. Then the wild and crazy girl I am that likes the pain of this whole fitness stuff decided to come back for more later that night after I took Hannah home oh and got the fam Mc Donalds for supper.. But not for me. I came back for the walking class at 5:30. We walked 3.5 miles around town. It was great. Now here comes the whole reason for this post. So this morning I woke up went, to the gym did my leg workout THEN went on another 3.5 mile walk now I get to relax till 3 then I'm going back for the real deal Spin Class. At least this is for a good cause. Not just the calorie burn but the fee goes to our Relay For Life team.. But whats with all the torture.. This will make my 4th workout in 24 hours.. Yes you can call me crazy but I feel GREAT. I will return in the morning at 8am for my upper body and core workout the my interval cardo training.

Eater Sunday 2010

Easter Sunday this year couldn't have been any better. Well actually I guess it could have been alittle better. My son Zac spent this blessed weekend with his girlfriend and her family so he was greatly missed. We spent the day with doing Easter egg hunts, going to church and eating wonderful dinner. The weather was perfect and the time spent with family was refreshing at the least. I found it a great day to sit back and reflect on life. I have lots to be thankful; my kids, my husband , family, friends, our health, my home, and all that spring brings us but most importently our heavenly father and my belief in him and all he make possible in my life. I hope everyone got to spend this Easter Sunday 2010 praising our beloved heavenly father and spending time with their family.

Today I started our garden. A few months ago I was at the supermarket reading lables like I always do and relized there was more then just tomatoes in tomatoe sauce. I found this shocking so I got on line to see for my self how hard it was to grow and make my own tomatoe sauce. Not too difficult so I asked uncle Bruce where I could grow a garden in our yard. Our yard isn't flat at all so by suggestion from Bruce to help him this year thats what I did today.. We planted a row of radishes and green onions and three rows of potatoes. I'm very excited to see them grow and harvest them and then can or freeze them. I find this a simple and fun process to get fresh veggies for my family. And what better way to teach my girls how food grows and how wonderful it will all taste coming out of our very own garden..

Family event

Today the kids and myself went out to Beaver Damm and ate lunch then went for a walk around the lake. And much to my surprise the 2 year old sure has alot of energy. It is a long walk around that lake and she insisted walking about two thirds of the way around. Of course on the way home she fell asleep. It was a very relaxing day spent with the little one's in my life.. Hopefully no one gets poisin ivy.

I did it.. I said I really wanted to do this Blog thing and here I am.. I'm making my own history..This is all so new to me. All I've ever done up till a few months ago was check email, done ebay and look things up on the internet. Even when I needed songs for my Ipod I needed help. So back in December my friends told me I needed a Facebook. Well that has changed my life (sometimes for the bad). So now I'm headed for a new adventure in Blogging. Yippy... Well I hope I have as much fun doing this as I have reading everyone else's. I want to share my journey as a mom and wife and my daily adventures as The Real Housewife of Macoupin County. I hope to share some yummy tasting recipes(hopefully healthy ones), maybe a good fitness tip here or there, or do what I do best and just yack.. Maybe by me just talking I can stay stressfree and relaxed and breeze right thru my 40's and right up to my 50's. Any advice or suggestions is welcomed.
